Our Client Stories From TripAdvisor Reviews

  •   Drove from Kaza to chandratal; virtually non existent road but it was a beautiful setting once we reached. Bishen played a perfect host with a story telling session about the Parasol. Were delighted to see early morning snowfall on 11th.Freezing cold but what a day.

After a bone-jarring drive of 6-7 hours, the Chandratal Camping Ground with its many tents appear like an oasis in the wilderness.
The Parasol Camp has 15 'luxury' Swiss tents, with one room and an attached bathroom in each tent. Though there is no electricity, solar lights are available inside the tents in the evening. Do carry a torch, since the grounds are not illuminated.
The wrought iron beds in the tents can sleep 2-3 adults and extra bedding is provided, if required. Due to the freezing temperature & icy winds, mornings and late evenings are uncomfortable - particularly because there is no provision for heating inside the tents. To counter it, the mess tent with its Himachali fire-place provides continuous supply of hot tea, garlic soup and traveler stories to keep you warm.
Food is basic, cooked in the local style and served with warmth.

  •   Stayed here a night before they planned to wrap up for off season. Bishen & Team are doing a great job in ensuring the gueats are comfortable.
    - Swiss tents recommended. Clean interiors. Clean restrooms.
    - The dinner session starts with Garlic soup. Tastes great. Keeps you warm. Does the job. They served a pickle of some mountain herb. Insist on that, Try your Luck!!
    - They appreciate if guests follow their dinner timings (9ish if I recollect) as the nights are windy n cold & the staff have to clean the utensils. Remeber the taps run dry in mornings as the water is frozen.
    - Carry your own booze and snacks to nibble on. Not sure if any shops in the vicinity.
    - Ensure you fill the buckets before hitting the bed. Reason? Tap, dry, water, freeze blah blah

Super views and brilliant people to take care of you at the majestic Chandratal Lake. The camps are a few kilometres from Chandratal Lake and the nights are just mesmerizing under the stars with a bonfire.

  •   We recently spent two amazing nights in this picturesque campsite. Under the able leadership of the owner Mr. Bishan Thakur, the entire team is engaged in an arduous task of ensuring comfort to their guests in extremely hostile climatic conditions. The tents were basic, but had all the necessities covered. My father-in-law fell sick after the hike to Chandratal, but the entire team stood beside us like a family to provide him all the care he needed. I would like to thank Mr. Thakur, Sonam, and Veer for all their help and promise to be in Parasol; again in the future.

Awesome host. Garlic soup was heavenly. The way they treat nature is heartwarming. Chandrataal is a must visit place and given the journey and terrain parasol camps is the place to stay to make your trip more memorable.
